The gala, a celebration of the 85th Academy Awards, was an exclusive, invite-only celebrity event with press, red carpet, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and live music. Featured that evening was the presentation of the first annual “Ernie” Award in honor of Oscar-winning actor Ernest Borgnine.
The “Ernie” Award will be presented each year to an actor who exemplifies all that Ernie held in high regard in the field of acting. This year, the award went to Sean Penn.
Ernest Borgnine once said, “There is no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he doesn’t mind who gets the credit.” Cape Clogs founder Pam Irving had the opportunity to meet this wonderful man 4 years ago at an event in LA, and has an autographed clog from him!
To the right, actress Gage Golightly of “Teen Wolf” fame is pictured holding a Cape Clogs gift certificate.
Following the event, the following celebrities requested their complimentary pairs of our clogs:
- Loretta Swit (the nurse from M*A*S*H)
- Logan Julstrom (the Le Corden Blue chef who now designs and conducts food experiments in the kitchen of Target Corporation’s Research and Development Department)
- Actress Julie King
Cape Clogs was pleased to be among the very limited number of companies represented at the event to showcase their products.
